Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure the community’s buildings, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality.

You will diagnose and complete resident work orders, manage the make-ready process for vacant homes, and ensure timely, quality repairs. The role requires basic tools, a valid driver’s license, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools and know how to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to identify and fix problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete work orders from resident requests, performing repairs per policy and safety standards.
• Oversee and complete the make-ready process for vacant apartments, from inspection to punch list and scheduling vendors.
• Develop standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, amenities, and common areas.
• Periodically inspect work by others and contractors, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate with Community Manager on supplies and tools within budget.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance procedures and assist in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing when feasible and promote safety practices.
