Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Kokomo, IN

Duration: 6+ Months

Description:

1. Assist and coach Team Leaders and Team Members on 5S activities in assigned departments.
2. Identify sources of contamination and establish countermeasures to eliminate them.
3. Manage machine classification based on cost deployment and breakdown maps; lead OEE, MTBF, and MTTR analysis to reduce breakdowns and stoppages.
4. Lead spare parts management activities to minimize loss due to part unavailability.
5. Monitor and promote CILR ownership as per the AM calendar for machines and expansion areas.
6. Assist in reducing CILR time to enhance overall OEE.
7. Implement visual controls to improve workplace status visibility.
8. Support cross-functional teams in problem-solving using WCM tools to reduce variation.
9. Ensure maintenance support for machinery and processes to meet daily production targets.
10. Maintain safety and integrity in the work environment.
11. Facilitate communication between departments, lines, and suppliers.
12. Coordinate with external resources for technical challenges beyond the team’s capability.
13. Define and catalog spare parts.
14. Drive the EWO process for documenting equipment failures.
15. Update job instructions, lessons, and pre-flight checklists.
16. Analyze process parameters, identify root causes, and coordinate improvements.
17. Participate in PFMEA activities.
18. Implement standards for autonomous maintenance, professional maintenance, quality control, focused improvement, and people development using WCM methodology.
19. Assist in tracking KPIs and support activities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
20. Fill in as Production Business Unit Leader as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and GED
• Minimum 3 years of industrial automation and project management experience
• Ability to work any shift and overtime
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build relationships with all levels within the plant
• Capability to handle multiple projects and troubleshoot problems
• Self-starter with leadership skills
• Ability to mentor skilled trade employees
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license; availability for any shift

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering field
• Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
• Leadership experience in a union environment
• Green Belt/Lean Six Sigma training
• Knowledge of controls, robotics, drives, communication systems, and various manufacturing systems
• Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing methodologies
• Proficiency with Google Suite software
