Job summary

Innophos is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineer to drive reliability and optimization across plant operations. You will develop maintenance strategies, lead capital projects, and provide technical leadership for long-term fixes.

Collaboration with production teams and plant staff is essential to improve productivity and quality. Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical preferred) and 3+ years in industrial electrical/control systems, with experience in Allen-Bradley

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred).
  • 3+ years of industrial experience in electrical and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to collaborate with maintenance teams and grow into leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement equipment reliability initiatives.

  • Review and improve predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Partner with production departments to resolve issues affecting plant operability.
  • Help manage and administer the plant control network.
  • Lead improvement projects – scoping, cost estimation, capital requests, fieldwork supervision, and commissioning.
  • Investigate recurring equipment failures to identify root causes and long-term fixes.
  • Oversee outside contractors as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance

Projects

  • Oversee outside contractors as needed

General

  • Collaborate with plant teams to meet overall plant objectives
  • Take on other tasks as assigned
  • Communicate with area coordinators as needed
  • Step in as designee for the E/I Coordinator role when needed
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred)
  • 3+ years of industrial experience in electrical and control systems
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills (verbal and written), with solid organizational ability
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and support maintenance teams, with demonstrated potential to grow into a leadership role
  • Solid understanding of good engineering and safety practices
  • Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, and complete work orders on time, including managing budgets and estimating project costs
Environmental and Physical Requirements
  • Frequently: climbing ladders/stairs, standing, bending, exposure to temperature changes, plant visits
  • Occasionally: lifting (avg. 20 lbs, up to 70 lbs), squatting, office work
  • Rarely: operating mobile equipment (Cushman/pickup truck)

The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, specific skills, licenses and certifications, experience, and training.
