180 Maintenance Supervisor - Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:

This position supervises maintenance and contract employees (mechanical and I&E) to ensure a reliable and safe Maintenance program for the facility. Drives continuous improvement through effective feedback and process documentation. Takes an active role in coaching employees to reach their full potential by providing consistent, fair, and effective feedback. Leads maintenance technicians to ensure quality work is completed safely and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure proper execution of scheduled maintenance work as planned by the Maintenance Planner.
  • Supervise daily activities of maintenance mechanics and specialists.
  • Ensure all safety and GMP rules are followed during work.
  • Coach employees on job performance, attendance, safety, and related criteria.
  • Use CMMS and other systems to maintain records for analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor work for quantity, quality, safety, and GMP compliance against standards.
  • Support and comply with food safety, quality, and legal requirements.
  • Oversee project construction work, including scheduling and coordination to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with operations leadership.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to enforce safety, reliability, quality, service, and productivity expectations.
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience, with a focus on team excellence.
  • Customer-focused, proactive in conflict resolution, influencing, listening, and planning.

Education/Training:

  • High school diploma/GED required; engineering degree or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Strong expertise in mechanical or I&E maintenance, with exposure to the other.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience preferred.

Salary range: $58,100 - $108,000. Pay varies based on factors like experience and location. Overtime pay applies for qualifying hours.
