Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of Mechanics, assigning daily work orders related to project work, new construction, equipment installation, general building maintenance, emergency repairs, and supporting other maintenance groups to meet manufacturing goals. The role involves implementing and managing the plant’s maintenance programs, including preventative maintenance, and collaborating with operational staff to ensure safety and peak plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop maintenance staff.
• Assign and supervise daily work in accordance with safety and GMP policies.
• Report safety hazards and conduct daily inspections of key equipment and support systems.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with operations departments.
• Lead a team of multi-skilled Mechanics responsible for maintenance across the facility.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
• Plan and schedule work to minimize downtime, ensuring timely parts and supplies.
• Be available for emergency calls as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of plant operations to assist other departments.
• Keep records of maintenance activities and generate reports for process improvement.
• Evaluate staff performance and ensure training on updated procedures.
• Adhere to all safety, OSHA, and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Experience in building or plant maintenance, electrical construction, troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership and time management skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of machinery repair, welding, electrical, pipefitting, and use of tools.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work overtime or scheduled shifts.
• Compliance with safety standards.
