C.H. Guenther is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to manage day-to-day maintenance operations in a 24/7 industrial food manufacturing facility on a shift basis.

The role focuses on safety, reliability, and process efficiency, leading teams of mechanics and electricians to perform preventative maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, experience with TPM/SOPs, and a hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

• Must have technical certifications in Mechanic or Electric fields.
• 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• 1 year of experience leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics & Electricians in predictive & preventive maintenance and machine repair.
• Develop and supervise maintenance systems, processes and documentation (TPM, SOPs, Safety, etc.).
• Schedule maintenance in coordination with Production for timely repairs.
• Develop KPIs to track maintenance performance (equipment reliability, OEE, etc.).
• Provide troubleshooting support to operating teams and analyze failures.

Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of maintenance operations in a 24/7 Industrial Food Manufacturing Facility on a shift basis while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Leads teams of Maintenance Mechanics & Electricians in predictive & preventative maintenance and machine repair.
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and day to day supervision of maintenance systems, processes and documentation associated with efficient and High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOP’s, Safety, etc.).
• Ensures maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and works closely with Production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
• Develops and/or maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, 3rd party contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.)
• Provides long term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
• Trains employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.
• Provides regular status reports to maintenance management team.
• Reviews all planned job packages for labor requirements, materials, parts, methods, permits, and priorities.
• Distributes work orders directly to those assigned to perform the task.
• Evaluates all Emergency work identified to ensure an emergency response is necessary, or, directs the creation of a work order that can be planned and scheduled in the future.
• Ensures appropriate resources for each planned and scheduled job have the correct skill levels for proper work execution.
• Controls Job Execution. Directs Trades in the performance of approved maintenance jobs. Controls quality, duration, cost and thoroughness of all work under their direct supervision.
• Monitors each job closely by frequently visiting jobs in progress to ensure job quality and progress. Interfaces with the Production Department on any changes in duration or any other conditions that impacts the schedule.
• In the absence of key personnel, the employee’s supervisor or qualified designee (one that has been trained in the key employee's duties) is responsible to complete or delegate the completion of all required tasks and responsibilities.
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications:

• Recognized technical certifications in Mechanic or Electric fields.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in Maintenance, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
• 1 years of experience leading teams

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

• Excellent communication and coaching skills
• Detail oriented and organized
• Autonomous, motivated and directive, while being able to train and coach others
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints , draw plans, equipment and parts,
• Excellent knowledge in mechanics, industrial electricity, refrigeration, hydraulics and pneumatics, automatons and instrumentation.
• Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets; data bases and word processing
• Strong background in HAACP; safety and GMP.
• Must have a hands-on work ethic, and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of PLC and ability of troubleshooting electrical issues is an asset.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervisory responsibilities include monitoring associate performance for a regular group or work unit. This includes providing input on hiring; disciplinary actions; work objectives and their effectiveness and realigning the department as needed.
• Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or a work unit, including providing input on hiring / disciplinary and work objectives / effectiveness, and realigning work as needed.

Working Conditions And Physical Effort:

• Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise.
• Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
• Position requires the ability to stand; sit at a desk; walking around office and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting to inspect equipment. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
• Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther, will be provided.

$58,947.00 - $101,091.00

Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location.
