Position Overview

The Community Engineering Manager - BTR oversees all facilities and maintenance operations, including work orders, preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, and supply management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop engineering teams
  • Manage work orders and maintenance schedules
  • Perform manual repairs and general upkeep (e.g., landscaping, painting, carpentry)
  • Oversee third-party vendors and ensure quality standards
  • Maintain inventory records
  • Inspect fire safety and mechanical systems
  • Develop and monitor budgets for maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and legal requirements
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years in real estate, hotel, or multifamily maintenance
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Proven maintenance technician skills
  • Knowledge of MEP and HVAC systems
  • Tools and appliances proficiency
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Certified Pool Operator (or able to attain within 3 months)
  • Proficiency in Google and Apple systems
Physical and Certification Requirements
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Use hand and power tools
  • Work in challenging environments
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and PPE use
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Entrata
  • Build-to-Rent or multifamily maintenance experience
  • HVAC/EPA certification
