Job description

As the Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for all maintenance functions necessary to ensure efficient plant operations in manufacturing, processing, packaging, and associated utilities. The role also includes mentorship and skills development in loss elimination, risk management, and lifecycle asset management, sustaining a proactive‑planned maintenance program.

Shift: 3rd Shift – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday to Thursday.
Shift differential: 7 %.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Guide the factory to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or areas of common occurrence, focusing on high‑impact zones and ensuring safety, food safety, environmental, and compliance considerations.
  • Monitor plant/equipment trends to maximize uptime and reduce planned and unplanned downtime.
  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators in line with Best Maintenance Practices.
  • Facilitate the evolution/refinement of maintenance activities to minimize downtime (PMs, changeovers, etc.).
  • Maintain processing and packaging equipment, reducing unplanned downtime and increasing reliability and availability.
  • Implement repairs/modifications identified through gap assessments, plant audits, and notifications, delivering high‑quality workmanship.
  • Own job planning, validating all material and services planning for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead documentation for equipment history, damage coding and root‑cause analysis, ensuring accuracy.
  • Develop and lead a network of Factory SMEs; train and guide them in implementing the NCE Reliability program.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide periodic feedback for development.
  • Share maintenance‑related standard methodologies across all Nestlé factories via corporate engineering resources.
  • Collaborate with corporate engineers, suppliers, contractors, and plant partners to meet customer needs.
  • Encourage partnership among Engineering, Production, Quality Management, etc.
  • Conduct regular plant inspections to identify potential problems and solicit operator feedback.
  • Consolidate and analyze factory M&R budgets, driving sustainable improvements with Group Engineering specialists and managers.
  • Run technical stores, scheduled work orders, labor hour allocation, and equipment Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Support and back‑fill the rollout and sustainability of TPM‑PM Pillar across all Nestlé USA and Canada factories.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of production equipment maintenance.
  • Direct experience managing mechanics responsible for equipment maintenance (preferred).
  • Some knowledge of utilities and facility equipment (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong technical and leadership skills: lead, motivate and develop others; prioritize, coordinate, and direct multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of TPM/PM Pillar tools, including breakdown analysis, reliability‑centered maintenance practices, PM optimization, and predictive maintenance technologies (infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, etc.).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for food safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of cost drivers of maintenance in manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo) and ability to mine and analyze data for trends/reports.
