Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift - Pembroke Pines, FL
Summary of Position:

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of maintenance employees, ensuring the safety and productivity of Waste Pro vehicles, equipment, and containers. This role may serve as manager-on-duty in the absence of other managerial staff and involves various management responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnoses mechanical issues, performs repairs and maintenance on Waste Pro equipment, reviews and completes repairs on DVIR and repair orders, and road-tests vehicles to verify repairs.
  2. Supervises employees responsible for repairing, installing, and maintaining machinery and heavy-duty equipment, including Rear Load, Front Load, Roll Off, Grapple, Portable Restrooms, and Containers.
  3. Prepares and reviews repair orders to ensure proper charging and completion, and maintains logs of repairs.
  4. Recommends hiring, coaches, counsels, evaluates performance, identifies training needs, monitors attendance, and enforces safety rules.
  5. Develops relationships with managers, drivers, helpers, mechanics, and admin staff.
  6. Identifies equipment and parts needs, procures parts within budget, and refers major purchases or repairs to the Maintenance Manager.
  7. Participates in safety reviews, inspects trucks and tools, and verifies quality of maintenance work.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Attends and participates in training courses as assigned.
  • Stays updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body systems in heavy and light-duty trucks.
  • Knowledge of fuel systems.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D., with two years of vehicle/hydraulic maintenance or welding experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL, meeting Waste Pro requirements. Mechanic or ASE certification preferred.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Includes exposure to chemicals and waste, physical activities like lifting, bending, reaching, working in extreme temperatures, and using PPE. Must be physically capable of frequent movement and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Work is conducted indoors and outdoors, with occasional extreme weather exposure.
