Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead repair, maintenance, and installation activities across mill and plant facilities. You will supervise technicians, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure uninterrupted production by aligning with engineering and quality control teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance with 2+ years in leadership, plus a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of mill, industrial plant, or other establishments by performing the following duties personally or through maintenance personnel:

• Responsible for developing, monitoring, and evaluating maintenance policies and procedures, examining equipment, systems, or facilities, and analyzing information to determine needed repairs, services, or installations.
• Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
• Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
• Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
• Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
• Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
• Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
• Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
• Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
• Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
• Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
• Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
• Daily collaboration and communication with other supervisors, managers, and staff members to formulate and implement policies/procedures in order to achieve goals and objectives.
• Actively participates in and supports plant continuous improvement activities.
• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
• All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as Infor EAM
• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• VFD programing experience.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Work Ability Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. May occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
