Building Location: Essentia Virginia Hospital Department: 2087900 MAINTENANCE - VIR HOSP Job Description: Works under the direction of the Maintenance Leader to coordinate the daily maintenance and operational activities of the facilities department. Assist in facility improvement projects. Guide and instruct maintenance staff in completion of highly technological tasks as well as assign various day to day to work orders. Order, procure and maintain an inventory of appropriate parts. This position will also provide backup to various functions within the facilities department. This position will ensure that Joint Commission standards as well as any other regulatory body standards are in compliance. Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, plus successful completion of two (2) years, 2300 hour plus, vocational technical training program in facility maintenance or a related field of study. (West Region rural sites: Ada MN, Graceville MN, Fosston MN, Jamestown ND, Lisbon ND, Valley City ND, etc – this education piece for tech training is preferred) AND Two (2) years of maintenance experience (healthcare facilities preferred), including one (1) year of supervisory and/or leadership experienceORFour years of maintenance (healthcare facilities preferred) experience. Licensure/CertificationQualifications:

Current Class "Special" Boilers License or ability to obtain within 6 months as required by the facility(excluding Park Rapids and North Dakota locations unless required by facility) or holds a higher certification (such as 2nd Class B or C, 1st class license or chief A, B or C license)

2nd Class B or C boiler operator's license (or higher such as 1st class license or chief A, B or C license) within 18 months of hire or transfer (excluding Park Rapids and North Dakota locations unless required by facility)

Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer (excludes 32nd Avenue – Fargo)"
