Position Details

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
South Tacoma
Date: 11/12/2024
REPORTS TO: Shelter Operations Manager
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-4:30PM, some on call
PAY RANGE: $65,000-75,000 annually
BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, long term disability, vacation & sick leave
POSITION TYPE: Management / Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

1. Conduct routine, preventative, and emergency repairs including inspections, carpentry, drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, and general handyman duties.
2. Perform construction projects such as renovations, brickwork, roofing, electrical upgrades, and plumbing.
3. Maintain mechanical equipment and property grounds.
4. Assist with punch lists, walk-throughs, warranty work, and special projects.
5. Follow PPE protocols and maintain work areas.
6. Participate in on-call duties and roving tasks.
7. Coordinate bids and supervise subcontractors for large projects.
8. Evaluate properties for maintenance needs and prioritize work to minimize vacancy loss.
9. Order supplies, manage budgets, and utilize online software for reports and documentation.
10. Provide training and communicate professionally with team and residents.

Qualifications

1. 4 years’ experience in building maintenance including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
2. Knowledge of repairs for doors, walls, floors, appliances, locks, etc.
3. Experience with diverse populations and excellent communication skills.
4. Regular access to a vehicle and maintenance tools.
5. Proficiency in MS Office and Google Docs/Sheets.
6. Pass criminal background checks and drug screening.
7. Preferred: Washington State Electrical Maintenance Certification.
8. Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or approved accommodations.
