Job description

Maintenance Supervisor – Refresco

Position Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Supervisor maintains plant equipment and processes, ensures preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, minimizes downtime, and complies with all occupational health and safety regulations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Ensure PPE requirements and food quality & safety compliance per corporate and regulatory standards (e.g., SQF).
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees, exercising authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or discipline.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes via quality and performance measurements, eliminating bottlenecks.
  • Ensure reliability of plant and equipment operation while optimizing maintenance costs and satisfying safety, environmental & regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and solve safety concerns during design and operation of processes.
  • Develop hands‑on improvement processes to reduce scrap and defects, document SOPs, and implement best practices.
  • Coordinate installation of new equipment to maximize production efficiency and maintainability.
  • Modify equipment and work areas in collaboration with production for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge base of utilities and utilization levels.
  • Stay abreast of safety, environmental, and other regulations affecting the facility.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing equipment maintenance and ensuring maximum asset utilization.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with systems designed by the manager.
  • Maintain written environmental compliance documentation.
  • Periodically prepare reports to satisfy environmental and safety regulations.
  • Review, evaluate, counsel, discipline, and discharge employees to meet productivity goals.
  • Recommend product manufacturability improvements.
  • Investigate root causes of non‑compliance with OHSA and other standards.
  • Develop strategies for accident reduction, energy, and waste minimization.
  • Oversee human resource deployment across the plant and administer collective bargaining agreements (if applicable).
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5–7 years in a manufacturing facility.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven leadership experience in a production environment.
  • Strong team player able to work across functions.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills; results oriented.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and adapt to change.
  • Excellent communication skills with direct reports and all organizational levels.
  • Decision making and judgment with limited data.
  • People management: coaching, goal setting, praise, and recognition.
  • Ownership: initiative and responsibility for tasks and challenges.
  • Continuous improvement via lean principles, Kaizen events.
  • Documentation: accurate recording of production data and organized records.
  • Safety and compliance: OSHA, environmental, corporate compliance; timely completion of training.
Physical Demands
  • Continuously standing or walking.
  • Regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
  • Work environment is very repetitive.
  • Climate: ability to work in ambient hot and/or cold seasonal environments.
