Job summary

Hexcel is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Salt Lake City, UT, Fibers location. The role will supervise the maintenance team, develop schedules, and ensure equipment reliability to support continuous production.

You will collaborate across departments to maintain uptime and safety standards, review records, and mentor staff to improve plant performance. A minimum of 5 years in manufacturing maintenance and a relevant degree are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and lead a maintenance workforce.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance team and off-shift supervision when managers are off-site.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify issues.
• Ensure safety, environmental, quality and schedule compliance in carbon fiber manufacturing.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operations.
• Assign work from software systems and write/close work orders.
• Mentor and develop the maintenance team and drive success.
• Maintain in-depth operating knowledge to maximize uptime/yield.
• Maintain reliability to reduce product loss and damage.

Position

Hexcel is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Salt Lake City, UT, Fibers, location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team and act as supervisor of entire maintenance organization during off shift times when Maintenance Manager and other members of management are not on site


• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures


• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and resolve issues


• Become knowledgeable and ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, quality and schedule requirements pertaining to the manufacturing of carbon fiber


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs


• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company operations


• Assign work from software systems, maintain databases and write/close work orders


• Mentor, develop, and monitor the maintenance team to provide ongoing feedback, issue reviews, orchestrate team meetings, issue disciplinary action, and drive the success of the team


• Develop and maintain a comprehensive, in-depth operating knowledge of the facility and equipment to maintain a high level of operating efficiency (uptime and yield) in conjunction with good housekeeping and safe equipment operation while meeting required schedules


• Exhibit the discipline required for the enhancement of product quality and the elimination of product loss and damage by maintaining the reliability of all Plant equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in maintenance in a manufacturing environment


• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree is a plus


• Prior supervisory experience required


• The ability to effectively manage and lead the maintenance workforce


• Must be self-motivated and possess good interpersonal/leadership skills


• Able to demonstrate problem solving ability
