Job summary

Harsco Environmental in Pittsboro, IN seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance staff responsible for repair and preventive maintenance of mobile and fixed equipment. You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate with vendors, and ensure work aligns with plant schedules.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of supervisory experience in heavy equipment or steel/mining environments, strong technical aptitude, and proven leadership to drive quality, safety, and productivity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance supervisory experience in Heavy Mobile Equipment, Static Processing Plant, Locomotive and/or Gantry Cranes and/or
• 3+ years maintenance supervisory experience in a fast-paced customer oriented service support environment and/or
• 3+ years maintenance supervisory experience in a Steel Mill, quarry, mining, rolling stock, major construction or material processing environment
• Sound mechanical knowledge of Medium and Large Wheel Loaders, Scraper Tractors, Diesel Locomotive, Gantry Crane, Material Processing plants would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct maintenance staff in repair and preventive maintenance of all mobile and fixed equipment
• Ensure all maintenance is performed safely and technically correctly
• Provide leadership to internal maintenance team, external vendors and suppliers to meet mill schedules
• Offer technical guidance for corrective and preventive maintenance activities
• Ensure availability of tools and resources for the maintenance team
• Manage short and long-term maintenance planning and efficient completion of planned activities within budget
• Provide input for scope of work for major repairs
• Assist maintenance workers and subcontractors in diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Provide training to maintenance crew members
• Participate in safety, quality and environmental programs via observations, audits and meetings
• Carry out duties with focus on safety, quality, and productivity

Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and directing the activities of maintenance employees in the repair and preventive maintenance of all mobile and fixed equipment.

• Ensuring that all maintenance is performed in a safe and technically correct manner.
• Maintaining a mixed fleet of equipment capable to serve the customers changing needs
• Provide leadership and direction to the internal maintenance team, external vendors and suppliers to ensures that work is completed efficiently and inline with the Mills schedules.
• Providing technical guidance for both corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
• Ensure the correct tools and resources are available for the Maiantence team.
• Management of short and long term maintenance planning, and completion of planned activities efficiently within budget.
• Significant technical input and creation of scope of work for major repairs.
• Assisting maintenance workers and sub-contractors in performing diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Provide guidance and training to members of the maintenance crew

• A strong organized communicator, willing to work a rotating schedule, weekends and holidays in a fast paced environment.
• Participate in safety, quality and environmental programs by conducting observations, audits and meetings.

Qualifications

• 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience of Heavy Mobile Equipment, Static Processing Plant, Locomotive and/or Gantry Cranes and/or
• 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a fast-paced customer oriented service support environment and/or
• 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a Steel Mill, quarry, mining, rolling stock, major construction or material processing environmentand/or
• Sound mechanical knowledge of the following types of equipment Medium and Large Wheel Loaders, Scraper Tractors, Diesel Locomotive, Gantry Crane, Material Processing plants would be beneficial
