Job summary

Summary:

As a Supervisor I, Maintenance, you will provide both technical expertise and frontline leadership to ensure stable production operations and continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on engineering technician responsibilities with people leadership responsibilities, supporting both operational excellence and team development. You will actively perform maintenance, support production troubleshooting, defect management, customer audit readiness, and engineering improvement activities while leading a team of Technicians to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and operational goals. You will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to maintain efficient operations and develop a high-performing workforce.

Position Focus:

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily acitivities and assign work priorities to technology technicians based on production requirements
• Manage technicians attendance, scheduling, overtime and workforce allocation to support operational needs
• provide coaching, performance feedback, and employee development through regular communication and performance evaluation
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and training of new technicians
• Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and work standards
• Communicate production updates, technology priorities, policy changes, and operational expectations to team members
• Provide first-response technical support by assisting engineers with troubleshooting production equipment and process issues
• Perform and supervise rework activities involving Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, and Communication/PLC components in accordance with engineering guidelines
• Support mass production stabilization by documenting troubleshooting activities and defect histories for engineering analysis
• Manage defect inventory and material disposition while ensuring inventory accuracy between physical stock and system records
• Support field testing, engineering trials, and Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) improvement initiatives through accurate data collection and feedback
• Prepare production areas for customer audits by ensuring equipment readiness, material organization, and visual quality standards
• Maintain and update technical documentation including SOPs, Quality Alerts, Rework Guides, and engineering records
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or technical certificate in engineering, electrical, mechanical, industrial technology, or related field preferred

Experience:

• 3 to 6+ years of maintenance or equipment experience in a manufacturing environment
• 1 to 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience2 to 5+ years of skilled trades experience preferred

Physical Requirement: This position is performed in a high-volume manufacturing environment and is considered physically demanding.

• Stand and walk for up to 12-hour shifts, excluding scheduled breaks.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Safely climb, descend, and work from ladders and elevated work platforms when required.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Work safely around moving machinery and automated production equipment.
• Maintain focus and productivity while working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment with demanding production schedules.
• Adapt to changing production priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
