Overview
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
The maintenance supervisor plays a crucial role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining long-range plans for the improvement of maintenance activities. This position provides technical assistance to the manufacturing departments, ensuring effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment to support key initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement and actively support corporate safety policies and plant housekeeping standards.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and initiate immediate and long-term solutions.
- Support the plant in achieving goals related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost.
- Supervise construction and maintenance projects.
- Assist in the implementation of divisional and corporate policies.
- Maintain schedule and quality requirements.
- Train, develop, and evaluate employees.
- Comply with terms of Local and Labor agreements and support divisional and corporate policies.
- Initiate contact with internal and external teams to solve problems.
- Implement planned maintenance activities.
- Complete work assignments within budget, manpower, and timing constraints.
Essential Skills
- Ability to work any assigned shift, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime.
- Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Experience in machine assembly or facility areas.
- Ensure a safe industrial work environment.
- Basic math knowledge, including trigonometry.
- Clerical work, data gathering, and machine studies knowledge.
- Experience in supervision of a multi-trade workforce.
- Strong knowledge of tooling and manufacturing assembly processes.
- Behavior-based competency assessments for various skills.
- High analytical ability for complex problem-solving.
- High interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and motivation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Lotus Notes or other email communication tools.
- Ability to work well with others and exhibit teamwork skills.
- Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Training in skilled trades or equivalent technical training.
- 10 years of experience required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
