Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising, planning, and implementing all maintenance activities in the plant to maximize production while adhering to safety practices and environmental requirements. Through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance programs, the Maintenance Supervisor must ensure manufacturing equipment, and the building is in good operating condition.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and developing their team. They focus on ensuring compliance with safety regulations, leading a collaborative team, and implementing effective maintenance strategies to achieve operational excellence and minimize downtime to support production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain inventory levels on tools, spare parts, and other maintenance items within budgetary guidelines.
  • Improve the plant preventative and predictive maintenance program.
  • Works with the team to install, maintain, validate the performance, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Direct outside contractors in safety and supervise the work being completed.
  • Coach, train, and lead all maintenance employees.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements relating to equipment and addresses safety issues.
  • Actively promotes plant safety improvement and programs including STOP Audits and operator safety checklists.
  • Monitor employees who are responsible for housekeeping and routine maintenance.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement activities through lean manufacturing tools such as 5s, Root Cause Analysis, and Kaizen participation, etc.
  • Manage purchasing for the department, as authorized, to meet budget.

Education and/or Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a maintenance role with a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Other Requirements:
  • Understanding and adherence to relevant safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, including assigning tasks, providing training, and motivating employees.

  • A strong understanding of various mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems commonly found in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules and best practices to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Experience in identifying and resolving complex equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
