Job summary

Oldcastle APG, Inc. in Katy, TX is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment across the plant. You will communicate with production and management on all issues and help ensure safe, reliable operation of facilities.

The role requires strong troubleshooting in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, experience with automated packaging equipment, and the ability to organize daily maintenance plans and lead other technicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance in a plant setting.
• Troubleshooting 480V systems, motor controls and VFDs.
• Experience with automated packaging equipment and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
• Organize and plan maintenance each day
• Prepare for scheduled maintenance
• Manage schedules for special projects and preventative maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness in shop and maintenance areas
• Ensure safety rules are followed and conduct monthly safety meetings
• Order parts for projects and maintenance supplies
• Identify and discuss machine issues with supervisors to diagnose problems
• Dismantle defective machines and install repaired parts
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts
• Train and supervise other maintenance team members

Job Summary

Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and physical structures. Communicate with production and management on all issues within the plant.

Job Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
• Organize and plan maintenance each day
• Prepare for scheduled maintenance
• Responsible for organization of schedules for special projects, in addition to preventative maintenance
• Maintain good house‑keeping within shop and all maintenance areas
• Responsible for adherence to safety rules and making certain all monthly safety meetings are held with all maintenance employees in attendance
• Order parts needed for special projects and regular maintenance supplies
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Responsible for training and supervising other members of maintenance team

Job Requirements

• Strong troubleshooting skills in Electrical Systems (480V, motor controls, VFDs) - Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Conveyors, Motors and Gearboxes, Compressors, Dust Collection Systems.
  • Candidates should have experience in maintaining Robots, Palletizers, Hooders, Rotary, Dryers and Automated bagging machines
