Job summary

Mentor Technical Group oversees maintenance and project management in calibration and facilities for pharmaceutical clients. The role emphasizes ensuring equipment availability, reducing downtime, and optimizing maintenance costs across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate has a science or engineering background, with preference for an MBA or MS/ME, and will lead teams within a regulated life sciences environment and related contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering required.
  • MBA, MS or ME preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance and project activities related to calibration and facilities, improving equipment availability and reducing downtime.
  • Coach and supervise direct reports to ensure proper management of maintenance/project activities within customer account.
  • Develop strategies to improve preventive maintenance/calibrations across multiple locations.
  • Lead maintenance and operations improvement projects across multiple locations.
  • Maintain client facilities in operational condition, minimize downtime, reduce maintenance costs.
  • Identify and develop plans for cost improvement opportunities.
  • Oversight of facilities contracts including janitorial, pest control, doors, elevators, fire systems.
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical industry environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering

Responsibilities
  • Incumbent will be directly involved with management of maintenance / project activities related to Calibration and Facilities, process optimization, troubleshooting, therefore, responsible for the quality of the product provided to customers.
  • Coaches and supervises direct reports to ensure proper management of maintenance/project activities within customer account.
  • Develop and establish strategies and methods that improve preventive maintenance/calibrations across multiple locations.
  • Lead maintenance and operations improvement projects across multiple locations.
  • Maintain client’s facilities in operational condition minimizing downtime of systems by providing efficient and reliable operations focusing on equipment availability, equipment downtime reduction, and maintenance cost reductions.
  • Identify and develop plan for cost improvement opportunities.
  • Oversight of facilities contracts including but not limited to Janitorial, Pest Control, Doors, Elevators, FireSystems.
  • Pharmaceutical industry environment exposure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field is required.
  • MBA, MS or ME is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate Equipment, tools, or controls: The employee is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell frequently. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

He/she may frequently work outside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
