Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Lead, mentor, and motivator of a team of skilled mechanics in Durham, NC. You will oversee preventive maintenance, complex diagnostics, and major repairs for heavy trucks and equipment.

The role enforces safety standards and OSHA compliance, tracks parts inventory, manages work orders, and coordinates repair priorities with fleet management. You will cultivate a high‑performing shop focused on learning, growth, and pride in workmanship; 3+ years supervising in heavy‑duty diesel

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supervising or leading a team in a heavy-duty diesel, fleet, or mechanical maintenance environment.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment repairs.
• Outstanding organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize urgent repairs on the fly.
• Ability to bridge shop mechanics, operations drivers, and management teams effectively.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located.
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License preferred, or willingness to obtain one with employer support.
