JVM Realty Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Des Plaines, IL. You will oversee maintenance staff, supervise turns, and ensure safety standards while coordinating with the Property Manager on budgets and long-term planning.

The role involves hands-on repairs, vendor management, and after-hours on-call duties. Strong HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair skills are required, with 5+ years in maintenance and 1–2 years in supervision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role (multifamily preferred).
• Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and safety regulations.
• HVAC/EPA certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team — supervise and train maintenance staff, delegate work orders, and uphold quality standards.
• Turn homes around — oversee apartment turns, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance issues.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fair Housing regulations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies.
• Partner with the Property Manager on budgets, capital projects, and long-term planning.
