Job summary

King Soopers/City Market is seeking a Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance and projects in a food manufacturing setting. You will guide a team of mechanics, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement aligned with SQR and our Customer 1st strategy.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, coordinating planned maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reporting daily in CMMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 5 years progressive maintenance supervision experience.
• Experience in the food industry with preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills; GMP, EPA and OSHA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient and effective use of supervised craft resources.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHEC, NEC and FDA regulations.
• Direct mechanics in maintenance work including quality, cost and thoroughness.
• Assign and inspect planned maintenance work orders.
• Review job packages; refine labor, materials, methods and priorities.
• Identify and track training needs; assign mechanics accordingly.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot equipment with leadership support.
• Report labor, parts and work daily in CMMS.
• Follow programs to produce safe, quality foods meeting requirements.
• Accountable for Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety & Quality Principles.
• Must perform essential job functions with/without accommodation.

Job description

Lead the effective execution of all plant maintenance and assigned projects, in support of safety, quality and continuous improvement. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, efficient and effective use of all supervised craft resources
• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
• Ensure compliance to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations
• Direct mechanics in the performance of approved maintenance work including quality control, duration, cost and thoroughness
• Assign and inspect all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) work orders
• Review available planned job packages for completeness and correctness; refine and finalize labor, materials, parts, methods and priorities
• Identify, arrange and track the skills training and development needs of each team member; ensure prompt assignment of mechanics to specific jobs relative to individual abilities
• Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed throughout the facility
• Clean shop areas daily, including spare parts room and offices
• Provide support and leadership in troubleshooting equipment
• Ensure all labor, parts and work are reported daily through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
• Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products known to contain food allergens

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree a related field or 5 years of progressive experience in maintenance supervision
• Experience in the food industry dealing with preventative/predictive maintenance process, technical guidance and development of the maintenance work force
• Functional knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and CMMS
• Proven leadership skills
• Strong analytical ability
• Knowledge of Food Safety Principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and EPA and OSHA requirements
