Responsibilities

• Prioritize maintenance tasks and delegate workload.
• Oversee overall maintenance of hatchery, including electrical and mechanical.
• Monitor incubators and hatchers for operation.
• Lead preventative and routine maintenance of hatchery and equipment.
• Communicate with Managers on day-to-day maintenance issues and contractor needs.
• Train maintenance technicians on various maintenance tasks.
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures.

Job description

Statement of Purpose:

The Maintenance Supervisor position provides leadership in projects and everyday tasks for the maintenance team. Improve and develop maintenance team to provide more efficient operation of hatchery equipment and facilities. This includes taking lead in repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and the upkeep of all hatchery equipment while continually maintaining a safe work environment. This position includes participating in a rotating night and weekend on-call program with other maintenance personnel.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Prioritize maintenance tasks and delegate workload
• Oversee overall maintenance of hatchery, to include electrical and mechanical
• Responsible for monitoring incubators and hatchers for overall operation
• Responsible for the generator upkeep and operation
• Lead preventative and routine maintenance of hatchery and equipment
• Communicating with Managers on day-to-day maintenance issues and outside contractor needs
• Train maintenance technicians on various maintenance tasks
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures.
• Responsible for reporting any animal welfare issues
• Answer alarms in a timely manner
• Always use correct PPE for individual job tasks
• Rotate, take and respond to on- call phone calls
• Upkeep of the grounds including snow removal, mowing and weed removal with tractor and other supplies when needed
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Location Manager, Hatchery Manager, or Directors.

Skills and Abilities:

• Required to follow HLNA Bio-Security, Animal Care and Welfare Policies and HLNA SOPs
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, dusty environment
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone and via email
• Must have good organizational skills
• Willingness to learn and continue education in job related fields

Education and Certifications:

• Degree in related mechanical field or comparable life experience.

Experience:

• Management experience is preferred.
• Industrial Mechanical, and electrical experience

Pay Range:

• Between $30.00 and $35.00 depending on experience and certifications
