Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
• Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
• Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments.
• Interpret drawings of equipment to adjust, maintain or repair machinery.
• Respond to production area requests when mechanical issues are identified.
• Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency regarding time and resources.
• Always use correct PPE for each job task.
• Follow GMPs related to safety and animal welfare.
• Machine checks twice daily during shift and record.
• Monitor temperature of hallways and egg room.
• Monitor all production equipment on hatch days.
• Assist in chick processing as necessary.
• Monitor incubators and hatchers during shift.
• Respond to all alarms promptly.
• Keep hatchery management informed on inventories and needed parts.
• Take ownership of the maintenance program; investigate problems with others.
• Any other tasks assigned by management.

This position operates on a 1st‑shift schedule (7:00 AM–3:00 PM). Overtime may be required. This role also requires weekend on‑call duty on a six‑week rotation.
