Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, this position is responsible for the daily maintenance and plant operations of all buildings and facilities. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising the Buildings and Grounds team, scheduling staff, providing staff training and coaching, documenting counseling and performance issues for referral to the Director, and performing other routine departmental activities as assigned.
Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting staff in meeting department-specific performance improvement objectives, including Life Safety and Environment of Care standards.
This position works closely with the Director on management matters including, but not limited to, budgeting, productivity, safety, infection control, equipment evaluation, supply and inventory control, staff selection, performance evaluations, competency assessment preparation, and other management responsibilities as requested.
The Maintenance Supervisor uses technical skills daily to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues, helping ensure continuity of operations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for managing the maintenance team, delegating responsibilities, providing direction, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Organizational skills are used to develop maintenance schedules, track work orders, and maintain accurate records, helping optimize resource allocation and reduce downtime. Problem-solving skills enable the supervisor to anticipate potential equipment failures and proactively implement preventive measures.
Additionally, proficiency with maintenance management software and inventory systems supports efficient workflow management, documentation, tracking, and reporting.
