Job summary

Teasdale Latin Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for 1st shift in Hoopeston, IL. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, plan preventive maintenance, and coordinate with production to minimize downtime while ensuring product quality and safety.

The role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, CMMS proficiency, and a track record in food manufacturing environments. Competitive salary and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Proven experience in maintenance operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and GMP standards.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment inspections, to minimize production interruptions and downtime.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance tasks and ensure minimal impact on production schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify issues, defects, or potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or coordinate repairs with external vendors to restore functionality in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts and supplies inventory.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Monitor and control maintenance expenses within budgetary constraints by optimizing resources and minimizing waste.
  • Provide regular reports to the Maintenance Manager on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and adherence to maintenance schedules and KPIs.

OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment within the manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this position leads a team of maintenance technicians to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain product quality and safety standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
