Job summary

B&G Foods Inc. is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Ankeny, Iowa plant’s maintenance and capital projects. You will staff and schedule the maintenance team, ensure safety, GMP adherence, and drive cost-effective improvements.

You will analyze production processes, provide monthly performance updates to management, and mentor staff while fostering a positive labor relations environment. Strong leadership and hands-on experience required.

Qualifications

• Total Yrs. of Experience: 5 to 7 years.
• Six years of engineering and maintenance experience, including four years in supervision.
• Experience in consumer food products and packaging.
• Formal education: Associate Degree.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; JD Edwards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and capital projects at the Ankeny Plant.
• Staff, schedule the maintenance department as appropriate, and ensure its effectiveness through training.
• Maintain a positive labor relations environment with subordinate personnel.
• Analyze production processes and methods.
• Recommend and implement changes and new programs that improve costs.
• Provide monthly summaries to the management of maintenance performance and capital project updates.
• Maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and procedures in areas of own responsibility.
• Provide ongoing training and enforcement as appropriate.
• Responsible for reporting any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Enforce GMP rules and guidelines.
• Identify and communicate food safety issues; lead and influence food safety initiatives.
