Summary

Our Milford, DE team seeks a Maintenance Superintendent to oversee, either directly or through supervisors, the maintenance staff for a specific plant area.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing maintenance work plans; assign methods and procedures.
• Recommend maintenance and operating procedures for new facilities during construction.
• Develop layout designs for new equipment/process installations and modifications to existing setups.
• Prepare estimates for equipment, materials, supplies, and labor.
• Supervise repairs of building, mechanical, and structural issues.
• Review work orders; help establish work policies, maintenance, and repair standards.
• Maintain and update a preventive maintenance program utilizing the CMMS system to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Identify chronic maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions using machine data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure Maintenance Department activities comply with USDA regulations and quality standards, monitoring staff adherence to procedures.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

Experience Requirements

• 3-5 years of related experience.
• Experience in layout, drafting, project management, ergonomic design, Industrial Engineering, CAD, and USDA compliance.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Work involves stationary and moving positions for up to 12 hours on various surfaces, including wet, moist, dry, and greasy floors.
• Requires bending, twisting, lifting (up to 75 lbs), reaching, sitting, and grasping.
• Climb stairs, ladders, and equipment; work at heights up to 65’.
• Work in extreme temperatures (up to 110°F) and outdoor conditions.
• Wear safety gear, including FR-rated clothing and respiratory equipment.
• Handle dust, chemicals, and other airborne particles.
