Job summary

Surf Air Mobility is hiring a Maintenance Stock Clerk to support inventory control, parts handling, and shipping/receiving operations at our facility. You will verify inventories, process documentation, and maintain stockroom security.

The role requires ability to work in a 24/7 operation, lift up to 50 pounds, and pass background checks. We value strong organizational and communication skills with a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in general aviation or related operations (preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays
• Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986
• Must lift or move up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Issues parts and tooling from stockroom.
• Prepares parts and material for shipping and initiates screening for items shipped into the facility.
• Reviews and processes packing slips and vendor documentation on received parts.
• Controls the release of inventory and assets and ensures security of stockroom.
• Prepares paperwork and/or performs computer input/output to document warehouse activities.
• Verifies, counts, and processes all incoming/outgoing orders, materials, and documentation.
• Performs annual inventory for accounting department.
• Identifies discrepancies and reports them for corrective action.
• Completes and maintains cycle count sheets and other required reports.
• General duties including shipping, receiving, locating and storing parts, unpacking and packing parts.
• Maintains knowledge of aircraft parts certification, traceability, material expiry, and tool calibration.
• Physical duties include lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking as required.
• Assist in disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Supervisor or Director of Procurement.

JOB DESCRIPTION: MAINTENANCE STOCK CLERK

REPORT TO: SUPPLY CHAIN SUPERVISOR

The ideal candidate:

• Solid administrative and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work well with customers and with all management levels within the operation.
• Great customer service attitude and a willingness to “find a way” as opposed to “I can’t,” where applicable.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with vendors.
• Working computer knowledge – ability to learn systems, proficient with a PC.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to be trained in the requirements of handling hazardous materials as specified 49 CFR parts 171 through 180.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge for assigned base.

General duties include:

• Issues parts and tooling from stockroom.

• Prepares paperwork and/or performs computer input/output required to document warehouse activities.
• Verifies, counts, and processes all incoming and outgoing orders, materials, and documentation.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform annual inventory for accounting department.
• Identifies discrepancies and damaged materials and reports them to the Supply Chain Supervisor for corrective action.
• Completes and maintains cycle count sheets and other required reports and documentation.
• Performs general duties to include but not limited to shipping, receiving, locating and storing parts, unpacking and packing parts.
• Maintains knowledge of aircraft parts certification, traceability requirements, expired material, tool calibration.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, handle objects, tools, to reach with hands and arms; and to lift or move 50 pounds.
• Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Supervisor or the Director of Procurement.

Requirements for the position:

• 2 years of experience in general aviation, or part 135 or 121 air carrier operations or corporate aircraft (preferred but not required)
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
• Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift or move up to 50-pounds.
• The employee is frequently required to sit.
• Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time.
• Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform duties.
