Job summary

City of Midland is seeking a parks maintenance worker to perform routine maintenance, trash removal, and inspections of parks and athletic facilities. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment, completing reports, and supporting special events. Weekend and evening work may be required.

Candidates should be able to read work orders, handle basic tools, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. A Texas driver’s license is preferred, and CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

Ability to sit, stand and transport self from building to building. Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various work-sites. Employee will work in seasonal temperatures bending, lifiting and moving peices of equipment in order ro complete work or make repairs on parks equipment. Employee may be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals while maintaining parks.Employee communicates with other employees in the work group and may respond to questions from the general public regarding services or specific projects.

Ability to read and understand work orders and equipment manuals. Skill in the operation of hand tools and equipment such as mowers, tractors, gas powered trimmers, saws and other gardening and maintenance tools.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Texas Driver's License, CDL preferred.
