Job summary

WESTconsin Credit Union is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support all building systems across our locations. You’ll handle plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks, perform routine inspections, and prioritize issues to safeguard operations and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma with 3+ years in property maintenance; vocational training in plumbing, electrical, or maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/equivalent with 3+ years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems with maintenance experience preferred.
• Vocational training or trade school certification in plumbing, electrical, or maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diversified maintenance duties across all WESTconsin facilities.
• Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Prioritize maintenance requests based on urgency and impact on operations and safety.
• Maintain building systems and logs; respond to requests from leadership.
• Provide professional service to members, vendors, and contractors.
• Occasionally on-call work and frequent travel; back-up for Facilities team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Performs highly diversified and skilled duties related to all aspects of maintenance in all WESTconsin facilities
• Conducts routine office inspections to identify potential issues and to perform preventative maintenance tasks on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Evaluates and prioritize maintenance related concerns based on urgency and impact on operations and safety
• Monitors and maintains building systems as assigned
• Plumbing maintenance includes (location of leaks, installing sinks, p-traps, set toilets, clearing clogs, valves, etc.)
• Electrical includes (diagnosing circuit issues, breaker replacement, outlet and switch replacements, light fixture replacements, Lighting, etc.)
• Performs minor Carpentry and general maintenance work which includes (maintenance and repairs on doors, windows, and other building components.)
• Patches and repairs sheetrock, mud, texture, and full paint
• Responds to maintenance requests that are assigned by the VP-Facilities, Facilities Lead or requested by Office Leaders
• Assists in maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of all facilities
• Maintains maintenance log using current systems
• Exhibits strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
• Provides professional service to all internal and external members, vendors, and contractors
• Works as part of the Facilities team but frequently works independently.
• Serves as the back-up to other members of the Facilities team
• Occasional on-call work and frequent travel required

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• High School Diploma/equivalent with 3+ years of related work experience
• Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems with prior property maintenance experience preferred
• Vocational training or trade school certification in plumbing, electrical, or maintenance preferred
• Must be familiar with basic hand and power tools; the use of your own tools is permitted.
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to maintenance tasks
• Proof of valid driver’s license and insured personal vehicle required
• Availability for on-call or emergency maintenance is required
