Job summary

Marine Credit Union is seeking a Facilities Maintenance position based in La Crosse, WI, serving Western Wisconsin from Lancaster to Chippewa Falls. The role may involve travel to branches outside the area, with occasional assignments beyond direct oversight.

You will maintain buildings to keep them inviting to members and the community, performing routine maintenance and coordinating major repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Experience with mechanical systems including electrical, plumbing and HVAC is preferred.
• Experience with grounds maintenance, custodial operations and building codes is a plus.
• Experience in maintaining vendor relationships and negotiation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continually maintain building interior and perimeter for cleanliness and security.
• Provide routine building and property maintenance.
• Handle minor electrical work and coordinate major repairs/projects.
• Address minor plumbing and coordinate major plumbing repairs.
• Manage vendor bid processes and contracts; collect information for due diligence.
• Coordinate lawn/landscaping, snow removal, parking lot maintenance, painting, and cleaning.
• Ensure vendor contracts are fulfilled and safety/code compliant.
• Inspect facilities and maintain HVAC and other systems maintenance schedules.

Job description

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the completion or coordination of building and property maintenance and
upkeep at multiple facilities. Buildings are to be well kept and general appearance should be inviting to
members and the community. This position will work from the Western Wisconsin and will primarily serve
properties located from Lancaster to Chippewa Falls based in La Crosse. This position may also be
periodically assigned branches in other geographic areas, and it may be necessary to travel to branches
outside of direct oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Continually maintain building interior and perimeter to ensure cleanliness and security.
• Provide routine building and property maintenance.
• Minor electrical work including bulb changes; coordination for major repairs/projects.
• Responsible for minor plumbing needs and coordination of major plumbing repairs.
• Manage bid process for vendor projects and contracts. Negotiate terms and pricing. Help collate information for Vendor Due Diligence process.
• Coordination of lawn/landscaping care, snow removal services, parking lot maintenance, painting, and cleaning.
• Ensure vendor service contracts are being successfully fulfilled.
• Analyze maintenance/facilities safety needs and make recommendations for action.
• Periodically inspect assigned facilities.
• Creates and maintain maintenance schedules for facilities and systems such as HVAC. Ensures compliance to maintenance established schedules.
• Ensure safety and code compliance for facilities and systems, taking corrective action as needed.
• Makes supply/sundry purchases without prior approval.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical systems, materials, hardware, and equipment
• Must be able to read and follow instructions, directions, and safety procedures.
• Must be able to respond to and interact with employees in a professional and courteous manner addressing their needs and complaints promptly and timely.
• Must have the ability to work alone and in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Experience with mechanical systems, to include electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
• Experience with grounds maintenance, care, and equipment.
• Custodial operations and understanding of building codes.
• Experience with maintaining vendor relationships and negotiation is preferred.
• Experience with computer systems a plus.

Must have a driver’s license and acceptable driving record to MCU’s insurance company.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):

• Must be able to do continuous bending, stooping, twisting, carrying items, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
