Job description

Summary

Primary in-depth knowledge of multi-craft maintenance (mechanical and electrical). Working 12‑hour shift rotation position. Installs, modifies and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment to maximize performance, reliability, and up‑time while controlling cost to established guidelines.

Base hourly rate: $38.18.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uses the SAP Computer System.
  • Plans, orders materials and schedules.
  • Immersed in Allen‑Bradley process control systems.
  • Writes basic PLC code.
  • Troubleshoots PLC code and control network infrastructure.
  • Completes activities under the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation sections.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs boiler dowtherm systems.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems.
  • Operates, troubleshoots and repairs forklifts.
  • Reads and understands blueprints, sketches, mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Performs precision alignment tasks using laser systems.
  • Can perform basic millwright tasks.
  • Electrical reads and interprets electrical electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, instruments loop sheets and technical manuals.
  • Installs and maintains complex electrical, electronic and pneumatic measurement and control systems.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs variable speed motor drive systems.
  • Reads and follows practices set forth in the National Electrical Code.
  • Selects and uses all standard electrical/electronic and instrumentation test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains power distribution system.
  • Calibrates critical Spunbond process measuring equipment.
  • Instrumentation (secondary): installs and fabricates instrument components.
  • Modifies control loops, movements and replacements of instruments, and additions and deletions to the systems.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains instrumentation system and components, including control valve system.
  • Maintains charts, logs and records.
  • Follows area housekeeping and safety rules.
  • Operates shop and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Actively participates and contributes to cross‑functional teams.
  • Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three years multi‑craft (mechanical and electrical) experience.
  • Experience writing code and troubleshooting Allen‑Bradley control systems – preferred 2 years or equivalent training industrial millwright experience preferred.
  • Capability to enter information into computer software systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP system.
  • Knowledge of the operation of shop equipment.
  • Rigging experience preferred.

Physical skills: Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds. Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Routine duties involve standing, walking, sitting, using hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, or smelling.
