Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to own machine reliability on assigned shifts. You will perform multi-craft maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and support process improvements in a high-precision manufacturing setting.

Applicants should have 3+ years in industrial environments, PLC troubleshooting, and experience leading projects. The role requires safety adherence and collaboration with maintenance and production teams on a 12-hour night shift rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in industrial manufacturing as Electro-Mechanical/Engineering/Automation Technician.
• 3 years in automated manufacturing environment.
• 1 year PLC troubleshooting or programming.
• 1 year in maintenance roles spanning fabrication, mechanical and electrical crafts.
• 1 year leading projects or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety policies and implement safety improvements.
• Performs multicraft maintenance on high precision equipment, including testing and preventive maintenance.
• Learn production equipment processes to aid troubleshooting and provide operational support.
• Use technical knowledge to identify and implement machine improvements focused on reliability.
• Assign technical resources and technicians to reactionary maintenance needs.
• Audit daily, weekly, and monthly compliance requirements.
• Communicate with oncoming shift, Maintenance, Production, and Leadership to share information and updates.
• Contribute to skills development of on-shift technicians.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems with single phase and 3-phase motors, wiring, and controls.

What We Need

This position will be responsible for machine reliability for assigned shift, including reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, on precision manufacturing equipment and machinery.

What You’ll Do

• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and identify, recommend, and implement safety improvements.
• Performs multicraft maintenance tasks on high precision manufacturing equipment, including testing, adjustments, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Learns production equipment processes and standards to aid in machine troubleshooting and provide operational support.
• Uses technical knowledge to identify and implement machine improvements, with a focus on reliability.
• Assigns technical resources and technicians to reactionary maintenance needs and other tasks as assigned.
• Audits for daily, weekly, and monthly compliance requirements.
• Communicates with oncoming shift, Maintenance, Production, and Department Leadership to share necessary information, provide updates, and follow reaction procedures as needed.
• Contributes to skills development of on-shift technicians.
• Performs troubleshooting for electrical problems with single phase and 3 phase motors, wiring and controls

What You Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ year experience in an industrial manufacturing setting as an Electro-Mechanical Technician, Engineering Technician, or Automation Technician.
• 3 years’ experience in an automated manufacturing environment
• 1 years’ PLC troubleshooting or programming
• 1 years – Working in a maintenance role utilizing fabrication, mechanical, and electrical crafts
• 1 years’ experience leading projects or direct supervisory experience

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures in a timely and effective manner.
• Apply knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate effectively across department, both with maintenance team and production team.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through teamwork, accountability, and a proactive approach to maintenance.

What Else?

• This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.
• Other working conditions may include working 12 hour night shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
