Description

The focus of the Maintenance Services Lead – Salt Area is to oversee all activities related to the offloading, conveying, and storage of salt at the K2 Pure Solutions, Pittsburg, CA site. Additional responsibilities include support of other activities in the Maintenance Services Department including Cell Assembly and Facilities. Success in this role requires an individual who can connect with employees at all levels in the organization and pivots where needed for the day.

Requirements
Essential Functions
  • The Maintenance Services Lead is a working lead position responsible for coordination and execution of Salt Delivery and Storage related maintenance and operational activities.
  • Performs field inspections and repairs on, but not limited to conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and Salt Storage Liner.
  • Responsible for assisting in planning, overseeing operation and maintenance for Salt Ship Offload, Salt Conveyor and Salt Storage equipment.
  • Maintains a safe working environment while leading continuous improvement of equipment and related plant activities.
  • Contributes to improvement initiatives including use of root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance (PM) application.
  • Ensures routine, periodic, or special inspections are completed to prevent breakdown of rotating equipment, piping systems, salt liner and conveyors.
  • Oversees equipment and facility maintenance to ensure mechanical equipment is maintained in full working order and that the company's physical appearance is clean, safe, and properly maintained.
  • Coordinates training and testing in collaboration with the Maintenance Services Manager.
  • Develops maintenance and operating procedures in collaboration with the Maintenance Services Manager.
  • Understands when and how to utilize external resources for technical support such as vendors, support specialists and engineers, contract consultants, reference manuals and web site tools
  • Documents all salt related equipment work order repair work in MPUKE (CMMS).
  • Procures materials, equipment and parts from warehouse and outside suppliers.
  • Maintains a strong focus on housekeeping in maintenance shop and at job sites in the field.
  • Tracks and reviews compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Effectively receives and responds to employee concerns, elevating concerns as appropriate for action.
  • Serves as champion for the responsible, ethical management of the company’s workforce, protecting and maximizing employee well-being, equity, and long-term organizational value.
Safety
  • Enforce safety rules, procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Correct unsafe behavior promptly.
  • Report workplace injuries, illnesses, near misses, and hazards according to company procedures.
  • Never discourage an employee from reporting an injury or safety concern.
  • Participate in safety training, investigations, and corrective actions as required.
  • Maintains a strong focus on employee safety regulatory requirements.

Education/Experience
  • High School Education or Above
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in an industry setting
  • Has a strong background in rotating equipment, conveyors, and hydraulic systems
Work Environment
  • This role is in a 24/7 chemical production environment.
  • This role is in-person every day.
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of the Physical Demands Assessment, such as:
    • Must be able to work at heights and in varying environments (hot/cold)
    • Must be able lift/push/pull up to 50lbs
    • Must be able to use various PPE including a respirator and chemical suit
