Job summary

Indigo Living in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Maintenance Service Technician for Annex on the Square. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and assist property managers to keep apartments ready for new residents.

This role requires a hands-on mindset, strong communication, and flexibility to cover weekends. We offer competitive hourly pay, comprehensive health benefits, and 401(k) matching. You'll be part of our GO Team, with on-call rotations and a company vehicle when needed.

Qualifications

• Leadership mindset and strong communication skills are essential.
• Hands-on maintenance experience required; general repair knowledge preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends and on-call rotations is needed.
• Ability to safely handle basic appliances, carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review make-ready checklists to prepare apartments for new residents.
• Participate in after-hours emergency team to maintain community operations.
• Coordinate with Property Managers to obtain bids and negotiate repairs.
• Order and manage inventory of maintenance supplies.

What You'll Do

A typical Maintenance Service Technician’s day might include:

• Reviewing make-ready checklists to ensure all apartment homes are ready for the new resident(s) resulting in a 5-star Google review.
• Keeping our communities running 24/7 by being a part of our after-hours emergency team. You'll get to proudly cruise around town in a "GO Team" company provided vehicle for 7 days during the on-call rotation.
• Partnering with Property Managers to obtain bids and negotiate prices for a tree branch that just fell onto a garage roof.
• Ordering and keeping inventory of supplies and parts in a well-kept maintenance shop.

The salary range for this position is $ 23.00 - 26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
