Job summary

Charter Senior Living is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Director / Environmental Services Director at Calumet Trace in Owensboro, KY. You will oversee building operations, preventative maintenance, safety, and environmental services to keep residents safe and comfortable.

You’ll lead maintenance activities for resident apartments, common areas, and grounds, coordinate with vendors, and drive the community van when needed. A strong background in HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems is required.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Senior living, healthcare, hotel, or multi-unit housing experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all community maintenance operations: resident apartments, common areas, grounds, and equipment.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs and coordinate repairs.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.

Now Hiring: Maintenance Director

We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Director / Environmental Services Director to oversee building operations, preventative maintenance, safety, and environmental services for our senior living community.

This role is ideal for someone who can take ownership of the building, lead by example, solve problems quickly, and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

What You’ll Own

• Oversee all community maintenance operations including:

  • Resident apartments

  • Common areas

  • Grounds and exterior upkeep

  • Equipment and mechanical systems

• Perform and manage preventative maintenance programs

• Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs involving:

  • HVAC systems

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical

  • General building maintenance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and state regulations

• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed

• Assist with apartment turns and move-in readiness

• Drive the community van when needed

• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner

• Support resident satisfaction by maintaining a safe and comfortable environment
