Job summary

JBS Grand Island Beef is seeking a Maintenance Safety Auditor to conduct safety audits, verify OSHA and JBS safety standards, and ensure maintenance personnel follow proper procedures.

You will identify risks, document findings, drive corrective actions, and maintain audit records, while training new hires and current staff on required policies.

The role requires a strong mechanical background and proficiency with Excel and Outlook, with on-site work at Grand Island, Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with welding, power transmission, hydraulics, and electrical knowledge.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety audits on maintenance activities and equipment.
• Verify compliance with Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, and Powered Industrial Truck procedures.
• Document audit results, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion and compliance.
• Audit maintenance employee competency in core safety practices.
• Ensure new hires and current employees understand required safety policies.
• Maintain accurate audit records and communicate findings to management.
• All other duties as assigned.
