Job summary

Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East (SLFPA-E) seeks a Maintenance Repairer 2 to support the flood protection system and facilities in the region. The role focuses on inspecting floodgates and valves, performing plumbing, carpentry, concrete, and general facility repairs, and assisting with levee maintenance and special projects.

Candidates should have hands-on maintenance skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
  • Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational ability of each floodgate, including lubrication of locking devices and inspection of gate seals.
  • Provide plumbing services, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and quarterly inspection of flood control valves; document inspections.
