Job summary

The Louisiana Old Governor's Mansion, part of the Louisiana Secretary of State, seeks a dependable Maintenance Repairer 1 or 2 responsible for daily upkeep and repairs to keep the facility safe and welcoming for visitors and staff. The role supports event setups, inventories equipment, and coordinates with contractors as needed.

The appointment can be probational or promotional with opportunities for career progression within the Museum Division.

Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in building trades, maintenance, or related repair fields.
• Alternatively, six semester hours in construction management, construction tech, or engineering.
• No Civil Service test score required for this vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install and repair interior and exterior equipment.
• Assist clients with event setup.
• Inventory equipment and perform minor repairs to exhibits and building.
• Coordinate with contractors as needed and use/maintain hand tools.
• Possible night or weekend shifts.

The Louisiana Old Governor’s Mansion is seeking a dependable Maintenance Repairer 1 or 2 to handle daily facility upkeep, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties:

• Maintain, install and repair all interior and exterior equipment.
