Job summary

Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is seeking a Maintenance Repairer to support the Area Maintenance Department, performing plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry and refrigeration tasks to maintain facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The role requires one year of related experience or six college credits in construction trades, with duties including preventative maintenance and log-keeping. Shift is 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, weekends off.

Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in building construction trades, building maintenance, or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Complete six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

• Plumbing: repair and install fixtures, unclog drains, fix leaks and faucets.
• Electrical: repair light fixtures, ballasts, receptacles, switches, and fans; replace motors and pumps.

Job description

The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to serve as a Maintenance Repairer, assisting with the daily operations of the Area Maintenance Department on the Pinecrest Supports and Services grounds. This position will be key in performing plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, and refrigeration.

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties

• Plumbing: Repair and install commodes, lavatories, water fountains, and garbage disposals. Unclog sewer lines and drains, repair leaks, and repair/replace faucets.
• Electrical: Repair light bulbs. Repair/replace ballasts, receptacles, switches, and fans. Replace motors, pumps, etc.
• Appliance Repair: Repair washing machines, dryers, ice machines, and refrigerators.
• Carpentry: Repair doors, door closers, hinges, cabinet doors, knobs, baseboards, cabinets, furniture, door stops, windows, etc.
• Refrigeration: Perform preventative maintenance and maintenance to a/c units and air handlers. Clean coils; work on pumps to air handlers and motors, chill water valves, controls, belts, and filters.
• Keep check on hot water temperatures and maintain log.
• Run and service generators and maintain a log. Inspect fire extinguishers monthly and maintain a log.

Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Pass Days: Saturday and Sunday

Salary: Maintenance Repairer 1: $17.18 hourly - $30.92 hourly; Maintenance Repairer 2: $19.67 hourly - $35.40 hourly

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Maintenance Repairer 1 or 2 depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Job Appointment, Lateral Transfer or Detail to Special Duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
