Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Maintenance Repair Technician (CNC) for the Syracuse, NY facility on the 2nd shift (2:30pm–11:00pm). The role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems, reading schematics, and performing PLC/Mcode-Gcode related programming tasks.

Competitive hourly rate with shift premium is offered. The position requires NC/CNC repair experience, electronics knowledge, and a 2-year technical degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2-year degree in electronics or electrical technology or an experiential equivalent.
• 5 years of NC and CNC repair experience is required.
• Industrial mechanical background is preferred.
• Journeyman certification or educational equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Tear down, determine extent of troubles, repair damaged electrical or mechanical parts and reassemble following safety regulations.
• Adjust equipment to required specification and check to assure effective operation.
• Check sequence of machine cycle, determine type of machine malfunction, and make repairs accordingly.
• Troubleshoot defective printed circuit assembly boards and perform electrical test operations.
• Work from complex schematics, manuals and testing procedures and report unusual cases to supervision.
• Use PLC logic and machine programming basics (Mcode/Gcode) as needed.

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Maintenance Repair Technician (CNC)- 2nd shift. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility with core hours of 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The hourly rate for this position is $40.51/hour + $1.50/hour shift premium per hour.What you’ll do:Tear down, determine extent of troubles, repair damaged electrical or mechanical mechanism or replace worn or defective parts and reassemble following standard and prescribed safety regulations.Need a basic understanding of PLC logic and machine programming (Mcode/Gcode)Adjust equipment to required specification and check to assure effective operation.Check sequence of machine cycle, determine type of machine malfunction, make all necessary repairs applying machine repair theory along with electrical theory.Perform electrical test operations.Work from complex schematic diagrams, manuals and testing procedures.Troubleshoot all defective printed circuit assembly boards.Perform similar or associated electrical or mechanical duties as directed.Detect and report all unusual cases to proper supervision.Use of judgment to comply with instructions or prescribed routines and to make decisions.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
