Job summary

Signode Industrial Group seeks a Maintenance Technician in the Monroe, LA area to keep production running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs and drive equipment, with an emphasis on quality and safety.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance, knowledge of electrical systems, welding skills, and forklift experience is a plus. Competitive benefits apply; union-status varies by location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in industrial maintenance in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Ability to read gauges, tools and instruments related to product quality and repair.
• Solid knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Experience with PLCs and drive systems preferred.
• Welding experience (MIG/Arc)
• Forklift experience is a plus (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely, cost-effective manner.
• Perform maintenance on production machines and facility equipment.
• Inspect equipment during preventative maintenance and report findings.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Identify and correct electrical issues using PLCs and drives.
• Maintain machine productivity and quality after repairs and changes.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Respond to safety concerns and rectify immediate dangers.
• Maintain building safety and utilities until operations resume.

Job Description

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $24 - $29.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Summary:

The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality. Complies with applicable regulations and the department’s safety program.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in a timely, complete, and cost-effective manner.
• Perform duties to maintain production machines and other facility equipment.
• Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Identifies and recommends corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
• Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
• Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
• Maintain building safety and appearance including utilities, ventilation, housekeeping and plumbing.
• Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma/ GED preferred but not required. Certifications preferred but not required

Experience:

• 5+ years experience of industrial maintenance experience in fast paced manufacturing environment. Any equivalent of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
• Ability to understand and interpret gauges, tools, and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair
• Must have a good working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Knowledge and experience with PLCs, drives are preferred.
• Must have experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
• Forklift experience is a plus, training will be provided.
