Curtiss‑Wright Fleet Solutions in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Maintenance Repair Technician to support MRO operations on land and at sea. You will troubleshoot, repair, and test OEM equipment, install removed units, and complete service reports in a shop or shipyard environment.

The role requires hands-on technical capability, 0-3 years of experience, and ability to travel up to 25%. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; ability to read schematics and drawings is essential.

Maintenance Repair Technician

We are looking for a Maintenance Repair Technician to join our Fleet Solutions team in Chesapeake, VA. As Maintenance Repair Technician you will support maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations with physical and technical such as, but not limited to: OEM Equipment Troubleshooting, Repair, and Testing OEM Equipment Removal/Installation Completion of Performed Service Reports The MRT must be able to work in a shop environment during regular operational hours and/or contract specific off‑premises job sites such as shipyards and ships/vessels. MRTs should have the ability to work on reciprocating, electromechanical, and rotating equipment in both unsupervised and supervised scenarios based on experience with equipment at hand.

Location: Chesapeake, VA (on‑site)

Salary/Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $35.00/hour. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in VA. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

Your Challenge

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 0-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Basic shop skills and understanding of common manual and powered tools.
• Hands‑on technical capability and desire to understand mechanical equipment functionality.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
• U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
• Ability travel up to 25%.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Ability to perform mechanical inspection and alignment on all machines, diagnose, and make corrections.
• Ability to work overhaul equipment utilizing tech manuals and other repair documentation.
• Ability to work unsupervised on reciprocating, electromechanical, and rotating equipment.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to go into tight accesses, and be able to go up and down ladders to access equipment.
• Expected to have or purchase basic hand tools.
