Job summary

Roquette is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Specialist to join our POLYOX™ team in Institute, WV. The role focuses on contractor management, MRO operations, safety, and reliability activities to sustain plant performance.

You will coordinate contractor bids, monitor safety, develop training profiles, participate in RCIs, and ensure compliance with Site Conditions Documents and Roquette safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement in equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in field contract administration, maintenance supervision, EH&S, or project management.
  • 5+ years of experience in rotating equipment reliability is preferred.
  • Experience with ISO and cGMP requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Roquette is a family‑owned global leader in plant‑based ingredients and a leading provider of pharmaceutical excipients. We are looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Specialist to join our POLYOX™ team in Institute, WV. The role focuses on contractor management, MRO operations, safety, and reliability activities.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and participate in contractor bid and selection processes.
  • Execute contractor pre‑qualification processes and monitor contractor safety performance through IS Networld.
  • Develop contractor training profiles and assist in training coordination both in‑house and with third‑party vendors.
  • Monitor field audits, EHS assessments, and observations on contractors.
  • Actively participate in RCIs for contractors to ensure root causes are identified and actions are implemented.
  • Attend contractor safety meetings and leverage Roquette expectations and key learnings as appropriate.
  • Ensure contractors receive site indoctrination with verification of understanding and documentation covering general site rules and standards.
  • Directly manage contractor activities based on contract terms and conditions.
  • Resolve issues related to delivery of service as defined within contracts.
  • Monitor feedback processes through ISN and support purchasing in contract negotiations.
  • Initiate discussions with purchasing to refine or modify contract deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance from on‑site contractors with Site Conditions Documents, regulatory and Roquette safety requirements.
  • Understand scope of work and participate in job package preparation, pre‑job meetings, equipment inspections, and acceptance of services for work completed.
  • Assist in development of contractor JSAs (Job Safety Analyses) and audit compliance as needed.
  • Adhere to plant safety and environmental policies, accepting responsibility for personal safety.
  • Participate in organization EH&S teams and initiatives to implement solutions and improvements.
  • Manage storeroom and inventory to meet Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements, including capital spares or unique/custom‑made items stored in the warehouse.
  • Handle documentation for all MRO operations and identify needed materials, extending SAP numbers to site as required.
  • Perform as MRP planner, MRP controller, and PM‑MRO materials planner as needed.
What You’ll Need
  • High school education, GED or higher with craft or technical expertise; a technical or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in field contract administration, maintenance supervision, chemical operations, EH&S, or project management.
  • 5+ years of experience in rotating equipment reliability is preferred.
  • Computer and technical literacy; demonstrated skill in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel).
  • Experience with ISO and cGMP requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
Work Environment

This role spends approximately 50% of the time in an office environment and 50% in the plant environment.

Physical Demands

Employee is required to speak or hear; frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Work in hot, cold and loud environments. Employee must wear required PPE (fire‑resistant clothing, steel‑toed shoes, hardhat, eye/ear protection).

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Days and flexible hours of work are required to meet facility demands.
