Job description

  • Continuous Improvement

Drive Reliability. Prevent Downtime. Own the Future of Manufacturing Performance.

About the Company:

Join a global manufacturer recognized for producing industry-leading construction and industrial equipment used around the world. This growing operation is investing heavily in its people, production systems, and equipment reliability as it continues to expand manufacturing capabilities and increase production output.

Unlike organizations where maintenance teams spend every day reacting to equipment breakdowns, this company has reached a point where it is ready to invest in a dedicated engineering resource focused on reliability, root cause analysis, preventative maintenance strategy, and long-term operational excellence.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where your work will directly impact production uptime, manufacturing efficiency, and the performance of some of the facility's most critical assets.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out:

This is not a traditional maintenance position.

This is not a role where you'll spend your days filling out work orders or chasing emergency repairs.

We're looking for an engineer who wants to understand why failures occur, eliminate recurring problems, improve equipment reliability, and help build world-class maintenance systems.

If you're the type of person who:
  • Investigates problems until you find the true root cause
  • Gets excited about improving equipment uptime
  • Enjoys working alongside technicians and operations teams
  • Wants to make a measurable impact on manufacturing performance
  • Loves solving technical challenges others overlook

This role was built for you.

The Opportunity:

As the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, you will become the technical leader responsible for improving the reliability and performance of critical manufacturing equipment throughout the facility.

Initially, a significant portion of your focus will be dedicated to one of the operation's most important assets: its automated paint system.

This equipment directly impacts production flow throughout the plant, making uptime, reliability, and preventative maintenance critical to operational success.

You'll partner closely with Maintenance, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production Leadership, and Equipment Suppliers to improve performance, prevent failures, and drive continuous improvement.

Your success will be measured by:
  • Increased equipment uptime
  • Reduced downtime
  • Stronger preventative maintenance programs
  • Improved root cause analysis
  • Better equipment performance
  • Sustainable long-term solutions
What You'll Be Doing:
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead initiatives to increase equipment reliability and manufacturing uptime.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Perform root cause analysis using techniques such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Failure Analysis, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analyze maintenance data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, performance, quality, and cost reduction.
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance
  • Evaluate and improve existing preventative maintenance programs.
  • Develop maintenance strategies that reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Recommend predictive maintenance approaches to improve equipment performance.
  • Support maintenance planning and scheduling activities.
  • Help drive the organization's evolution from reactive maintenance toward proactive reliability management.
Manufacturing Equipment Support
  • Troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Support automated manufacturing processes, controls systems, and production equipment.
  • Work closely with maintenance technicians during troubleshooting and major repairs.
  • Collaborate with equipment OEMs and vendors to resolve technical issues.
Plant-Floor Engineering
  • Spend significant time on the production floor observing equipment performance.
  • Partner with technicians, supervisors, and operators to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate chronic equipment issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise during equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
Capital & Improvement Projects
  • Support equipment upgrades and modernization efforts.
  • Assist with tooling, automation, facility, and manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Participate in equipment specification, procurement, installation, and startup activities.
  • Help identify future investments that improve manufacturing performance.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
  • 3+ years of engineering or maintenance-related experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s in manufacturing engineering or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations.
  • Demonstrated success improving equipment reliability and uptime.
Technical Skills:

Experience with some combination of:

  • Maintenance Engineering
  • Reliability Engineering
  • Industrial Automation
  • PLC Troubleshooting
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Mechanical Systems
  • Electrical Systems
  • Manufacturing Equipment
  • Automated Production Equipment
  • Preventative Maintenance Programs
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • CMMS Systems
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance bonus opportunity
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid Time Off & Holidays
  • Career growth opportunities
  • Highly visible role with leadership exposure
  • Strong work-life balance culture
  • Flexible schedule options
Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing manufacturer that recognizes maintenance and reliability as strategic functions within the business. You'll have the opportunity to influence critical equipment performance, build long-term maintenance strategies, improve production uptime, and create lasting impact across the operation. If you're passionate about reliability, problem-solving, equipment performance, and making manufacturing operations run better every day, we'd love to speak with you.
