Job summary

FS Residential seeks a Porter to handle cleaning and maintenance across assigned buildings. The role includes inspecting work, reporting to a Supervisor, and performing duties indoors, outdoors, or a mix of both.

You will execute routine cleaning projects and ensure safety compliance while maintaining a professional demeanor. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties including sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, light bulb replacement and window cleaning.
• Informs Supervisor of needed supplies.
• Maintains cleaning solutions per OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
• Removes trash and assists in emergency cleaning.
• Uses new equipment safely and follows procedures.
• Maintains friendly and professional attitude.
• Maintains sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
• Inspects areas daily and reports discrepancies to Supervisor.
• Follows security procedures at all times.
• Maintains relationship with building staff.
• Finishes and burns floors as required.
• Completes daily work orders.
• Cleans restrooms as applicable.
