Maintenance Porter

CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly

COMPENSATION: $14 Per hour

POSITION SUMMARY: We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Porter to help keep Abri Apartments looking great! This team member will follow a routine cleaning schedule and assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed. Previous maintenance experience is not required but is preferred. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping spaces clean, and welcoming.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow a routine schedule for basic cleaning of common areas, including hallways, office, lounge, model units, and restrooms.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and touch-ups, as assigned.
• Support seasonal cleaning and turnover preparation.
• Maintain a clean and trash-free exterior around the property.
• Notify the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager of any larger issues needing attention.
• Help monitor the appearance and cleanliness of resident areas and shared spaces.
• Deliver friendly and professional service to residents and guests.
• Follow safety guidelines and respond appropriately to emergencies.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
• Maintenance experience is a plus but not required—willing to train the right candidate
• Ability to follow a cleaning schedule and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Friendly attitude and a willingness to help where needed
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and work 3–5 hour standing shifts
