Job summary

Sun River Service Company in Wilson, NC is seeking a Maintenance Planner - Scheduler to report to the Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on planning and scheduling work orders, maintaining Fiix CMMS records, tracking inventory, and delivering KPI insights to improve equipment reliability.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in mechanical/electrical maintenance planning, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and experience with MS Office; lean manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years of mechanical and electrical trades experience.
• Minimum of three years mechanical/electrical maintenance planning experience.
• Proficient with MS Office and Excel/Word.
• Experience in lean manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems preferred.
• Strong planning and scheduling understanding for predictive, preventive, etc.
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment and facilities operate efficiently and reliably.
• Promote safety culture and mindset.
• Track inventory of spare parts and ensure availability.
• Use maintenance software to record, track and analyze work.
• Plan long-range and short-range maintenance work.
• Maintain asset data in Fiix.
• Plan work orders with scope, resources, hours, materials.
• Coordinate work orders with Maintenance Team Leads.
• Maintain manageable work order backlog.
• Assist in Predictive and Preventive Maintenance initiatives.
• Ensure downtime work is identified and ready.
• Maintain inventory and proper item identification in Fiix.
• Reorder inventory items.
• Assist with Capex projects as required.
• Provide weekly KPI reports to Maintenance Manager.
• Generate purchase orders as required.
• Analyze maintenance data and prepare reports.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager.

Summary:

The Maintenance Planner-Scheduler reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is a vital position that is responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Planning & Scheduling
• Analytical reporting
• CMMS (Fiix)
• Receiving equipment and parts
• Capexreporting and tracking

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure that equipment and facilities operate efficiently and reliably.
• Promote an action-oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value. Instilling and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incidentally free workplace.
• Tracking the inventory of spare parts and ensuring their availability for routine and emergency maintenance
• Utilizing maintenance management software to record, track and analyze maintenance work
• Responsible for long-range and short-range planning.
• Maintains all asset data within Fiix and updates as needed.
• Plan all work orders to ensure the scope is identified, resource numbers and hours are estimated, required materials and tools are identified and on-hand.
• Coordinates all work orders with Maintenance Team Leads to ensure proper planning and asset needs are met.
• Maintains a manageable work order back-log.
• Assists in development and implementation of Predictive and Preventative Maintenance work.
• Ensures all work requiring downtime is identified and ready for execution.
• Effectively maintains inventory and ensures all items are captured and properly identified in Fix.
• Responsible for reordering inventory items.
• Properly receive all items procured in an effective and efficient manner.
• Aide and Assist with Capex project(s) are required and or requested.
• Provides weekly KPI report to the Maintenance Manager.
• Generate purchase orders as requested and or required
• Analyze maintenance data and prepare reports
• Performs other tasks and assignments as requested by the Maintenance Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Technical degree preferred.
• 5 years of mechanical and electrical trades experience (trades/technician)
• Minimum of three years’ mechanical and/or electrical maintenance planning experience
• Use of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Word required.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
• Previous use and knowledge of a CMMS system preferred and other affiliated CMMS systems.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of the planning and scheduling of maintenance work functions as they apply to predictive, preventive, precision, proactive, and corrective maintenance.
• Advanced comprehension of the equipment mechanical/electrical functions preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause skills mandatory.
• Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.

Working Conditions :

• Hot, humid environment at times, as well as cold, wet conditions for up to 12-hour shift.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, including lifting at shoulder level or higher.
• Lift and carry up to 100 lbs. on an infrequent basis, including lifting at shoulder level or above.
